Twitch Reverses Tectone Ban
Twitch content creator Tectone has confirmed that his two-week ban from the Amazon-owned service has been cut short and that he can return to streaming as usual. Tectone later said that, while Twitch stated his ban was reversed due to good behavior, he believed the reversal was due to backlash against Twitch from his fans, and thanked his audience for their support.
The reversal of Tectone's ban is just the latest in a string of changes happening on Twitch. In February, Twitch announced it was changing some of its ban policies, and confirmed that some violations would be forgiven after a set duration. Minor violations would be wiped after 90 days, though some bans administered due to "hateful conduct" may last a year or two before expiration. Additionally, Twitch stated that it would not be as lenient against repeat offenders and that some suspensions could be extended before a forgiveness threshold is reached. Twitch's updated ban policy will be fully released in the months ahead.Though he was on the receiving end of a two-week Twitch ban, a former member of OTK confirmed that he is now back in business. As reported by Dexerto, Tectone confirmed on social media that his two-week suspension from Twitch was over after just a few days. The creator's ban was listed at approximately 4:30 PM Eastern on April 28. Tectone was banned after insulting controversial content creator Frogan in his previous Twitch broadcast. During his short-lived ban from Twitch, Tectone stayed busy and streamed on YouTube, where he averaged over 9,500 viewers during an April 27 broadcast. The streamer said that Twitch's reasoning for his ban reversal was due to "good behavior" and that he would not bring up Frogan again on stream. However, Tectone stopped short of apologizing and stood by what he said despite his temporary removal from Twitch.
